I have not seen this particular problem anywhere else in the interface, but there might be something hiding on one of the templates that I haven't stumbled across yet.

This seems to also occur in the light variant (#5), but it's not nearly as noticable due to the contrast between the selection and the background

Additionally, I have discovered that this seems to be caused by a box-shadow and not a border as I was expecting.
